Sessions 2-5: Grade 6 "Doing Science" with the New Standards

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

With the new science standards focusing on "doing" science rather than "knowing" about science, the 6th-grade science teachers will spend the time creating hands-on activities that line up with the standards and go with the curriculum that we teach. We currently do several hands-on activities, but we would like to create even more, now that the science standards stress this so much. We will brainstorm ideas, create lesson objectives and common activities, and hands-on assessments.  This is a collaborative work project.

(This is a closed session for 6th-grade science teachers).
